Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit

 

Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit (QUA) ensures that all BU SFL educational programs meet the highest standards of quality and relevance, facilitating students to achieve their maximum potential in a supportive, inclusive and transparent learning environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Document Management and Control:

  • Create and organize a system of Master Document Register (MDR) in SFL server.
  • Create and organize all official documents, ensuring they adhere to the required formats and standards.
  • Implement and enforce security protocols to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of documents, and safeguard sensitive information by ensuring that the correct people have access to the documents they require.
  • Manage and track all documents related to the quality assessment procedure.
  • Facilitate efficient retrieval of documents for audits, inspections, and day-to-day operations.
  • Work towards the continuous improvement of document control processes to maintain and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the system by providing training to staff members on document control procedures, including how to create, modify, and store documents correctly.

Quality Assurance and Accreditation:

  • Ensure the alignment of institutional practices with national and international accreditation standards in language education.
  • Record and report regularly to management about the process of accreditation.
  • Oversee the implementation of the Internal Quality Assurance policy and coordinate quality assurance activities.
  • Coordinate with unit coordinators to implement the policy within their areas according to EAQUALS and YÖKAK standards.
  • Assist Admin in including all staff members in the accreditation process through carrying out activities as described in the EAQUALS Self-Assessment Handbook (2020).
  • Communicate with EAQUALS inspectors to ensure a smooth inspection process and address any issues that arise during the inspection.

Administrative Support and Record-Keeping:

  • Prepare standardized lesson plans, policy documents, procedure pamphlets, and accreditation documents.
  • Keep a record of course, teacher, etc., evaluation feedback and scores collected via ÖBİKAS or through other means.
  • Identify the permanent, contract, and foreign teaching staff who rank in the top five, present the names of these lecturers as well as others worthy of outstanding performance to the Assistant Director in charge of Academic Affairs for approval and further action.
  • Keep Admin Quality Class Visit Records, PDU Lesson Observation Records, Long Service Appreciation records, PDU Lesson Observation Records, CC Material Evaluation Observation Records.
