Exam Eligibility and Remedial Student Status

ELIGIBILITY TO TAKE THE EXAM FREE OF CHARGE

Preparatory students can take the Winter and Spring BUEPT exams held during the academic year in which they are registered free of charge if they meet the necessary conditions, and the Fall and Summer exams free of charge without any conditions. These students can also take the Fall exam held in the next academic year free of charge.

For example, students who receive preparatory education in the 2022-2023 academic year can take the following exams as long as they meet the specified conditions:

REMEDIAL STUDENT STATUS

Preparatory students who fail the Fall BUEPT exam of the following academic year after the academic year in which they are registered, are switched to Remedial status and their payments for the next exams are subject to making the university contribution (fee) payments.

Preparatory students who do not pay their university tuition fees become "Hazırlık Beklemeli (Unregistered)" students in the academic year following the academic year in which they are registered. These students can take the BUEPT exams held in the following academic year by applying and paying the special discounted fee for Boğaziçi students.

Continuing from the table above, "Hazırlık Beklemeli (Unregistered)" students, who received preparatory education in the 2022-2023 academic year and have not paid the tuition fee for the next academic year, will be able to participate in the exams in the next academic year under the following conditions:

Preparatory students who pay their university tuition fees become "Hazırlık İzinli (Registered)" students in the academic year following the academic year in which they are registered. These students can take the BUEPT exams held in the following academic year by only applying. These students do not need to make payments for the exams. 

Continuing from the table above, "Hazırlık İzinli (Registered)" students, who received preparatory education in the 2022-2023 academic year and paid the tuition fee for the next academic year, will be able to participate in the exams in the next academic year under the following conditions:

Students who fail these exams are dismissed from the Preparatory Unit. After this period, these students will only take the Fall exams to be held during the next three academic years. They cannot take the other exams.

Continuing from the table above, these students can only take the following exams in the following academic years:

Students who cannot prove their English proficiency in the last BUEPT exam will be dismissed from the university.
