Placement Test (DBS)

At the beginning of each academic year, a Placement Test (DBS) is held for students. The exam date is announced on the Boğaziçi University Academic Calendar, and the exam time and locations are announced on YADYOK website.

All of our students who will receive English preparatory education must take the Placement Exam. Through the exam, the programs in which students will receive their preparatory education are determined.

Program changes during the semester are made only for students whose grades have been miscalculated due to a technical error. Therefore, it is very important for students to take this exam in order to be placed at the correct level. Students who do not take the exam are placed directly into Program 1 (Beginner).

According to the Placement Exam, students are placed in one of four programs: Program 1, Program 2, Program 3 and Program 4. Program 1 consists of beginner level students, while Program 4 consists of most advanced students.
