Programs

PROGRAM 1 (P1): This group starts off as true beginners. Grammar is the main point of focus for these students during the first semester, along with reading comprehension, listening comprehension, and writing and speaking skills development. Classes incorporate audiovisual material to advance students’ language skills. Course books and booklets prepared by the Curriculum Committee are used. The difficulty level of the material increases gradually, and there is a focus on the development of advanced language and study skills towards the end of the program.

 

PROGRAM 2 (P2): The students in this group already have some knowledge of English. Grammar is the main point of focus for these students during the first semester, and they build their existing knowledge through the improvement of their reading, listening, speaking and writing skills. Along with their course books students receive booklets prepared by the Curriculum Committee. Classes incorporate audiovisual material to advance students’ language skills. The difficulty level of the material increases as the second semester progresses, and the last months of the second semester are totally devoted to the development of advanced language and study skills.

 

PROGRAM 3 (P3): Students of this group complete their knowledge of grammar, and they build their existing knowledge through the improvement of their reading, listening, speaking and writing skills. Along with their course books students receive booklets prepared by the Curriculum Committee. Classes incorporate audiovisual material to advance students’ language skills. P3 students are also required to prepare oral presentations. The difficulty level of the material increases as the second semester progresses, and the last months of the second semester are totally devoted to the development of advanced language and study skills.

 

PROGRAM 4 (P4): P4 students do not study grammar as a component, but focus on reading comprehension, listening comprehension, and academic writing. The relevant grammatical structures are handled as supplementary tasks in language use handouts. P4 students are expected to prepare an oral presentation and present it to the class. Classes incorporate audiovisual material to advance students’ language skills. The difficulty level of the material increases throughout the year as more and more emphasis is put on the development of advanced language and study skills. Online materials of P4 students are uploaded to the Moodle platform and students are expected to complete the materials and tasks there within the specified days. Since expired materials are deleted from the system, P4 students are expected to use the Moodle system actively.
