The end-of-year average is the average of the two terms.

Students can examine their exam papers in class at a time determined by their instructors. All questions and problems related to exam evaluations should be directed at the relevant instructor in class hours.

Portfolio

In all programs, students are expected to keep portfolios that combine the writing and speaking assignments they have completed throughout the semester. This portfolio is kept until the end of the semester and is presented to the instructor of the relevant course at the end of each semester. Portfolio contents are specified by the course instructor during the semester. The grade weights of the portfolios are stated in the tables above.

Active Participation

As stated in the table above, 10% of students' grades in both semesters come from class participation. According to this system, which is also applied in many of Boğaziçi University's undergraduate and graduate courses, students are expected to be in class on time and prepared, as well as actively participate in the course. Students' readiness and participation in the course are evaluated throughout the semester and graded by the course instructor.
