Irregular and Remedial Student Status

Irregular Status

Irregular students are students who pass the Winter BUEPT exam and start the department in the Spring Semester. This status can have both advantages and disadvantages.

Students with this status start the department by taking the second semester courses of their undergraduate programs. There may be a prerequisite for some of the courses offered in the second semester of the department's courses. Students who start classes in the second semester may not be able to take some of their courses immediately in the Spring Term as they have not taken these prerequisite courses. This gap can be compensated by taking courses from the following semestesr or summer school courses and they can graduate within 3.5 years.

However, students who will graduate from the department in 5 years will have the opportunity to easily allocate one semester for Erasmus or Exchange programs.

Irregular students are required to review their department's course schedules and make the necessary adjustments with the academic advisors of their department.

Remedial Status

Preparatory students who fail the Fall exam of the following academic year after they are registered, are switched to Remedial status and their participation to the next exams are subject to making university contribution (fee) payments. You can find detailed information about the Remedial status on the BÜYES/BUEPT page.
